France to modify packaging recycling labels

As part of the Anti-wastage and Circular Economy law (loi AGEC), France plans to change the labelling of packaging and indication of its recyclability. For instance, the Green Dot logo (indicating that an EPR contribution was paid) would be removed (which is now under discussion), and there would be more specific sorting guidance on the "Triman" logo to better guide consumers. The proposed regulations would enter into force on January 1, 2022, with a grace period foreseen. Guidelines for labeling are expected in the second half of this year. SGS provides additional details in an article.
