Winner drawn in UPM Raflatac’s campaign aimed at label designers

The winner has been drawn in UPM Raflatac’s Pro Label Studio campaign aimed at label and packaging designers around Europe. The winner is Gary Page from AD Creative, London. As a prize, he receives a weekend for two at World Design Capital Helsinki 2012.

Pro Label Studio is UPM Raflatac’s online label studio where label and packaging designers can preview and experiment with various label materials. During the campaign, designers were asked to give feedback about Pro Label Studio.

A first-time user of Pro Label Studio in December 2011, Mr Page was impressed with the website, commenting, “I thought it was nicely laid out, easy to use and a very useful tool for packaging designers in seeing various materials and finishes for packaging, without the need to go to costly and time consuming lengths when proofing and testing. This means you can get a greater feel for the effect and fine-tune your choices before specifying the final print choice. It also has a good understanding of the designers’ requirements in creating stylish and effective print solutions.”

Mr Page is excited at the chance to travel to WDC Helsinki 2012. It will be his first time in Finland: “I have no idea what to expect as I’ve never been to Helsinki. It will be part of the surprise, though I’ll be doing some research on what to see before I go.”

The World Design Capital sets a global standard and serves as a meeting place for the world’s design community. UPM is partnering with WDC Helsinki 2012 as one of the main corporate sponsors. BMW is also one of the main partners of World Design Capital Helsinki 2012, and will be offering the competition winner the opportunity to cruise the streets of the Finnish capital with a brand new BMW.
