VPF LAUNCHES FIRST RELEASE LINER BASED ON RECYCLED PAPER

Environmental and sustainability aspects are becoming increasingly important in the development of release liners for self-adhesive labels. This is underlined by the market launch of an innovative liner with which the adhesive material specialists at VPF are now leading the way. The NSA700-476 kraft paper liner is the first release liner on the market that is predominantly made of recycled paper.

70 percent is the share of recycled material used in the production of the new release liner. The FSC-certified 70 g/qm2 kraft paper significantly reduces the use of virgin fibres; in addition, up to 60 percent of the energy and up to 70 percent of the water are saved in production.

Compared to conventional liners, the VPF kraft paper liner thus has a significantly improved carbon footprint. In addition, waste is avoided through the use of recycled paper.

The positive sustainability effect can be significantly increased even further by using environmentally friendly face materials from the VPF product range. For example, these include 100 percent recycled, grass and bagasse papers, which are available for a wide range of applications.

VPF has subjected the Kraftliner NSA700-476 to all the usual tests and proven its long-term ageing resistance with all common dispersion acrylic and UV acrylic adhesives from the VPF portfolio.
The material is equipped with a slightly increased release value for paper and film face materials.

Also new and sustainable is the film-based, transparent R-PET liner, which VPF offers in a thickness of 30 . It has a 70 percent post-consumer waste content and is coated on one side with easy-release silicone.

Samples of the two new sustainable liners are now available from VPF.
