Strong partnership with Loxas in Greece

• HERMA Self-Adhesive Materials holds a strong market position in Greece.
• Sales partner Joannis Loxas, who was instrumental in establishing and shaping the market for self-adhesive materials in Greece with his eponymous company, played a crucial part in HERMA’s success.

HERMA Self-adhesive Materials is looking back on a remarkable development in Greece where the company now maintains a strong market position. The local sales partner has been and still is a crucial factor in this for 30 years. In October 1985, Joannis Loxas and his company Loxas S.A. became the representative for HERMA Self-adhesive materials, and was able to play a key role in establishing and shaping the market for self-adhesive materials in Greece. He remembers: “In the mid-1980s, there were hardly any label printers in Greece. But that changed very quickly, and now, our customers produce labels with high-tech machines. They require high-quality self-adhesive materials that are suitable for special applications in order to manufacture high-end labels. For that reason, HERMA has an excellent reputation in Greece.” Harald Wallner, Director Sales International at HERMA Self-adhesive Materials, adds: “Joannis Loxas recognized the growth potential in Greece early on. He then started to establish his own warehouse, following his entrepreneurial vision.” The warehouse enables the company to deliver even small lots within a very short amount of time. The last years have shown that the Greek market continues to offer great opportunities despite its problems: even during the crisis, HERMA experienced continuous growth. “Once again, this demonstrates our partners’ entrepreneurial skills”, says Wallner. The 69-year-old company owner Loxas has ambitious goals for the future. “Those who know him are familiar with his perseverance and clout in business matters. After all, he is not only a keen swimmer but also very successful in international seniors’ tennis”, summarizes Wallner. Long-term continuity is ensured by his son Haris Loxas, who has been active in the company for several years.
