REVO Team focus on folding carton and flexible packaging production on the BOBST booth at Drupa 2016.

REVO Team, the industry partners working together to introduce the Digital Flexo revolution to the packaging industry, announces that REVO technology will be displayed on the BOBST booth at the Drupa 2016 exhibition in Dusseldorf, Germany, with folding carton and flexible packaging samples being printed live on a BOBST M6 press during the show.

Carsten Bastian, Marketing Manager for Europe Middle East and Africa at DuPont, the largest plate manufacturer in the flexo industry, says, "For many years the folding carton industry has been dominated by the offset printing process. With Digital Flexo we believe carton converters worldwide will have an alternative, with which they can produce boxes with high color consistency, excellent repeatability and ‘digital’ flexibility in production. At the same time, flexible packaging converters can take advantage of the extremely high printing quality of Digital Flexo which delivers 90 lines per centimeter. Drupa is the ‘university of printing’ and the REVO partners are happy to share the printed results of Digital Flexo at the show, on the BOBST booth at Drupa and on their own booths."

Federico d'Annunzio, Strategic Product and Marketing Director for the BOBST Web-fed Business Unit, says, "By seeing Digital Flexo in action, we believe carton converters will recognize the printing quality it has to offer, along with its exceptional productivity. They will also be introduced to its low total cost of ownership (TCO). Flexible packaging printers will undoubtedly deepen their already high levels of interest in the Digital Flexo process, which is the ideal solution for printing both super-short and long runs with excellent efficiency."

David Naisby, New Markets Development Manager at AVT, a leading supplier of inspection solutions, says, "At Drupa, the REVO Digital Flexo process will show how it has grown as an alternative to offset printing for folding carton production, and as an alternative to digital when printing short runs in the flexible packaging industry."

On the BOBST booth (A60 in Hall 10) at Drupa 2016, an M6 Digital Flexo press will perform daily demonstrations of job changeovers and runs of both folding cartons and flexible packaging. A large number of the REVO Partners will also be present with their own booths and products.

REVO Team is a group of industry partners who have been working together since December 2013 to develop a turn-key manufacturing process called Digital Flexo. The REVO methodology involves several technologies, including digital press automation, ECG Extended Color Gamut implementation, standardization of the entire technology chain (plate, anilox, inks, prepress, substrates, inspection), and the development of new REVO-compliant products. REVO converters say they obtain high color consistency, repeatability, and flexibility, along with significant increases in measurable results such as manufacturing efficiency and productivity, after using the REVO combination of technologies.
