Rako witzhave expands portfolio with a Gallus ECS 340

By purchasing a Gallus ECS 340, RAKO ETIKETTEN GmbH & Co. KG in Witzhave, headquarters of the international RAKO GROUP, has made a profitable investment. The Gallus press – which is equipped with ten flexographic printing stations, one screen printing station and one cold foil unit for finishing – was successfully added to the company’s existing 26 presses last October.

Since its successful commissioning, the Gallus ECS 340 has been used mainly to produce adhesive labels. Holger Schoer, production manager at the company, which has a 650- strong workforce, is in no doubt about what made all the difference to the purchasing decision: “Efficient production operations are one of the key prerequisites for cost-effective and competitive adhesive label manufacturing. At just 1.1 metres between printing units, the extremely short web path of the Gallus ECS 340 has enabled us to reduce our waste dramatically. Minimal setup times and the robust press design ensure excellent reliability and maximum performance.”

Raimund Wiechert, a printer at RAKO ETIKETTEN GmbH & Co. KG, sees the benefits of the new press in his day-to-day work: “Thanks to its technical granite core, the Gallus ECS 340 is quieter than any other machine in its class. This enables us to deliver outstanding print quality despite maximum production speed. The self-explanatory design offers maximum ease of use and simplifies workflows tremendously.”

The focus for production manager Arne Bir is on providing the know-how and systematic development that are needed to meet demanding customer requirements: “To achieve this ambitious objective, we need reliable partners that are on hand to provide us with expertise and first-rate service. We’ve found such a partner in Gallus and its presses, which is why we’re certain that the Gallus ECS 340 offers a highly professional production solution.”
