Prati to showcase Jupiter TC 450 at Printtek Istanbul

PRATI announces its presence at Printtek 2013, the International Print Technologies and Paper Fair to be held on May 17-22 in Istambul. A PRATI JUPITER TC 450 will be shown in Hall 3, stand 314, at the booth of Imex Group PRATI’s distributor. The JUPITER is an inspection machine, which combines high precision label inspection with clear and accurate slitting of plastic and paper materials. The machine at the show will be equipped with a 100% error-free BST video web inspection system.

THE IMPORTANCE OF AUTOMATION IN LABEL PRODUCTION
JUPITER is part of a full line of highly automated machines manufactured by PRATI. “Our machines are not copies of others, but the result of 40 years of listening to our customers”. This is how Chiara Prati – company Sales Manager - sums up the strong points and competitive edges of the PRATI machines. It is therefore easy to appreciate how technology applied to PRATI machines plays a lead role, both in terms of efficacy, quality and innovation, for the purpose of achieving 5 crucial goals:
1. reducing the possibility of human error to the utmost and making the machines pleasant to work with;
2. being user-friendly, meaning ensuring the operator learns to use the machine as quickly as possible. Thanks to the easy know-how transfer concept, a knowledge of the machine can be transferred easily and quickly, so anyone can learn to use it in a very short time;
3. being plug and play – thanks to automation in fact, PRATI machines can be installed in just a few hours and work can start immediately;
4. obtaining quality reproducibility, i.e., ensuring the customer is always able to reproduce the same identical roll, containing the same number of labels, with the same material tension. PRATI is well aware that being able to rely on constant tension control is crucial during packaging;
5. ensuring full product compliance, i.e., making the product fully compliant with the specifications required by the end customer. ?

USEFUL AND INNOVATIVE AUTOMATIONS
A number of useful and innovative automations are fitted to the PRATI machines:
• Smart photocell
The PRATI machines feature a “smart” photocell able to automatically acquire the length of the labels and the gap between one label and another.
• Inspection System
The machines can be integrated with different inspection systems, to achieve more or less high levels of control (IR photocells, cameras, etc.) and any type of inspection system can be fitted, because the PRATI machines feature extremely precise and accurate web management, whatever the type of material.
• Slide dynamic fault placement
This automatism allows automatic fault placement in dynamic mode, besides optimizing speed and therefore productivity. The machine knows its running speed and is therefore able to slow down at the right moment without losing time. This is a gradual deceleration which only reaches a low speed shortly before
the splicing table (where automatic fault placement occurs).
• Automatic slow down
The PRATI machines have been fitted with this automation since 1986. The system permits automatic slow down at the end of count irrespective of the machine speed and label length.
• Automatic splicing system
This automation allows repositioning and re-registering the machine once the fault shown on the display screen has been recognised.
The two webs are automatically positioned on the splicing table, thus enabling the operator to correct the fault by splicing them with the exact gap measurement between the labels.
• Constant rewinding tension
This system ensures constant rewinding tensions over time for each type of material (paper, film, etc.). It permits the precise reproduction of performance and material tension, preventing any problems during packaging.

MADE-IN-ITALY MOTOR DRIVES
The motors and drives fitted to PRATI machines, since 1992, are a guarantee of quality and technological innovation; totally conceived, designed and manufactured in Italy by companies operating in the mechanical engineering field, in conjunction with Bologna University, they achieve a high degree of personalization and are designed exclusively for PRATI machines. Hence they are able to provide 99% reliability.
