PeterLynn chooses Screen Truepress Jet L350UV+ to meet unprecedented demand for labels during Covid pandemic

British labelling specialist PeterLynn has expanded its digital printing capacity, adding a Screen Truepress Jet L350UV+ inkjet press to help meet what it describes as “unprecedented demand” driven by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We chose the Screen inkjet press because we were impressed by the vibrancy of colour that can be achieved, as well as the fast print speeds of 60m/min,” says James Lindsay, PeterLynn managing director.

“We had been considering expanding our digital offering for some time, but when the Covid crisis hit we actually found demand for our digital department increasing to unprecedented levels,” Lindsay adds. This was driven by several industries moving from wholesale to consumer-size packaging, such as brewers switching from kegged beer for pubs to canned and bottled beer for consumers to enjoy at home.

“PeterLynn completed a thorough evaluation of the options in the marketplace, including talking extensively to existing Screen Truepress users. The team at PeterLynn was reassured of the reliability, uptime, ease-of-use and crucially the colour consistency offered by the Screen L350UV+,” says David Farnsworth, UK and Ireland sales manager for industrial inkjet at Screen Europe.

PeterLynn’s purchase of the Screen Truepress Jet L350UV+ is yet another example of Screen Europe’s expanding customer base in the United Kingdom, where there is a growing switch to digital printing.

“Screen L350UV+ will open up new opportunities”

“In label printing there is a constant demand for eye-catching yet cost-effective ways of creating labels. In recent months that demand has moved towards bright colours and spot gloss highlights on the label. I am so impressed with some of the initial work we have produced, and so are our customers. I really feel that the Screen L350UV+ will open up exciting new opportunities for us within a number of key sectors and will allow us to win longer print runs for digital,” says Victoria Waine, PeterLynn sales and marketing manager.
