Paramount Labels and Tags dedicates finishing room to BGM
Paramount Labels and Tags Limited , an industry recognised, long established and successful label printing company based in Staffordshire UK have a simple vision – to make high quality bespoke labels more cost effective and accessible to their ever growing customer base.
To help achieve this they invested heavily in new Digital Printing equipment to complement their existing Flexographic Printing department, as a result of this investment Paramount Labels also needed to purchase more finishing equipment to cope with the extra demands bought about through their Digital department, a lot of research was conducted and the name “ Bar Graphics Machinery “ kept coming up through recommendations as a proven company who could meet their demands regarding reliable Finishing Equipment.
A number of visits took place between Paramount Labels and representatives of Bar Graphics Machinery ( BGM ) to enable that the precise specifications and requirements could be determined , also that these would be achieved to ensure the optimal machine performance Paramount Labels needed.
As a result of these meetings Paramount Labels ordered a BGM Elite Digiflex Digital Converting Line , the BGM Elite Digiflex represents a new frontier of innovative technology in Digital Print Finishing and Converting systems with its Modular versatility, high speed performance and minimal set up waste being some of the keys to its flexibility and success.
BGM`s Elite Digiflex Digital Converting Line features Full Servo Control that ensures precise accuracy of the latest re-register flexographic print station and semi-rotary die cutting station: both the print station and semi-rotary die station incorporate a laser function that enables the operator to pre-position the print cylinder or die shim in register to the pre-printed media, thus enabling pre-registration to the print while minimising waste and downtime. The semi-rotary die cutting unit, DieNamic, achieves outstanding speeds of up to 110m/minute. Electronic Dispro compensation function is included as standard on the Digiflex range, furthermore the Digiflex range is fitted with BGM`s Rapidslit automatic digital knife box that automates the setting of the slitting blades through the HMI touch screen
Additional options chosen by Paramount Labels included a re-register in-setter to meet the growing demand for Peel and Reveal work , a Cold Foil unit to add embellishment’s to print, a lamination unit and a variable repeat sheeting module to enable further growth in the High Quality Print market for Layflat Sheeted work.
Other options available for the Digiflex include festoons for continuous work flow and a semi-automatic turret with splice and tail applier , additional auxiliary options will include Corona and Web Cleaning systems.
While the Digiflex was still in build Paramount Labels contacted BGM again, orders for Pharmaceutical labels had increased dramatically and Paramount Labels needed a slitter rewinder with a 100% Inspection system that could cope with the high standards required in a busy Finishing Department , they selected the BGM Elite Label-I Inspection Slitter Rewinder with festoon and splice table and enlarged error positioning splice table. The Label-I is suitable for paper labels, transparent clear on clear and films, BGM`s Label-I can inspect, slit and rewind unsupported and supported substates as thin as 15microns at speeds of up to 300m./min making this machine more than capable of meeting their expectations.
Paramount Labels were experiencing such rapid growth that whilst both these units were still in build they contacted BGM again regarding a standard slitter rewinder that was urgently needed. They ordered a BGM Elite 410iSR, the BGM Elite 410iSR label inspection slitter rewinder is the most cost effective, compact and robust free standing label rewinder currently available, boasting standard high specification features commonly found on more expensive slitter rewinders such as automatic unwind breaking with adjustable roll end settings, reversable rewind and machine diagnostics, its fast and highly energy efficient , it works off a single 13amp 230V plug and runs at speeds of up to 300m/min, once again BGM exceeded expectations with fast delivery of the Elite 410Isr – a machine that offers ease of operation to help manage the increasing demands of a modern print factory such as Paramount Labels.
