NXP Europe invests in new DM-Liner from Kurz

The British digital printing company NXP Europe is the first company worldwide to invest in the B2 format Digital Metal technology from Leonhard Kurz. The company purchased a Kurz DM-Liner for digital metallization at Drupa 2016, where the B2 machine was demonstrated for the first time. This foil transfer station for digital printing equipment produces metallic effects on paper and card stock, even for one-off print jobs. Subsequent color overprinting is used to create metallizations in arbitrary color tones. It is also possible to transfer holographic designs. Using the DM-Liner, NXP plans to offer its customers unique digital finishing solutions such as elaborately decorated commercial print jobs or refined personalized packaging.

Peter Doyle, Owner and General Manager of NXP, says: "With the Kurz DM-Liner we instantly saw the superior foiling quality achievable. The machine easily handles fine detail and point sizes as well as production speeds that are comparable to our Indigos, so production bottle necks will never be an issue. The 'pay per stamp' pricing model is a proven and understood concept for digital printers and being able to track foil usage online, with automatic foil replenishment, just makes stock management of the machine easy."

Kurz is delighted to be introducing its patented foil technology in the British market. "Our DM-Liner enables digital print products to be enhanced with metallic effects in an exceptionally high-quality manner," reports Stefanie Schmidt, Digital Metal Product Manager, "and with the new B2 format, it is now possible to decorate even larger packaging. This added capability, together with the second new machine in our product range, the DM-Liner UV Ink, opens up tremendous finishing possibilities. The enormous interest in both these systems at Drupa indicates that our Digital Metal technology offers solutions that can satisfy the needs of a wide variety of digital and offset printing businesses."
