MPS strengthening its North American presence

Strategic Growth Plan includes expansion of operations including sales, service offerings

MPS, known for its high-tier printing presses aimed at the lowest cost price per 1000 labels, today announced a strategic growth plan of strengthening its North American presence by expanding its sales, installation, service and assembly operations.
Denny McGee, president of MPS America LLC, and Kees Nijenhuis, vice president of North American operations, are leading the effort. McGee has been with MPS for more than nine years while Nijenhuis is moving to the United States from the Netherlands where he has been the manager of operations at the company’s world headquarters in Didam. Eric Vandenberg, responsible for MPS sales in the western United States and Canada, is also a part of the North American team. MPS America LLC is headquartered in Brookfield, Wis.

“We’ve been in the North American market for several years and have developed some very strong relationships with printers,” said McGee. “By implementing this strategic growth plan – which includes directives for enhancing sales, installation, service, assembly and consultative assistance – we will bring even more value to our customers.

“Our customers throughout the world have had great success with our high-tier presses – with outstanding ROI, superior printing, reduced waste and increased efficiencies. Our goal at MPS is to help our customers excel. We do this by listening closely to their needs and challenges, and then developing solutions that specifically address them. One example of the success of this approach is a recent installation of one of our presses at a South African printer that resulted in an increase in sales of 30 percent due to improved print quality. Our North American customers report comparable success stories with our presses,” he said.

McGee says another differentiating factor of MPS is its commitment to maintaining strong relationships with printers after a press has been installed. “Not only are we there to properly install and service our presses, but to help consult on any issues our customers may be having, whether it’s improving print quality, becoming more efficient or reducing waste.”

ADD 1 – MPS/NORTH AMERICA GROWTH
MPS is also enhancing its service capabilities by expanding its network of service partners. MPS currently partners with Press Works to provide 24/7 support and stocking of critical spare parts for MPS presses in North America. “Press Works does a fantastic job, and we are excited to extend our strategic cooperation. By expanding our service network we can offer world-class service in the North American market, which is our number one priority,” he said.

MPS kicked off its strategic effort earlier this year when it helped create and launch FlexPack Tech Tour 2014, a series of seminars being held across the country addressing challenges, direction and solutions with flexible packaging. MPS has joined with other leaders from the narrow web flexible packaging supply chain to share their knowledge and provide content specifically relevant to the narrow web converter during these free seminars.

Future MPS events will include press demonstrations, open houses, seminars and webinars.
