MPS brings flexo printing to Korea with debut appearance at KIPES 2018

At this year’s KIPES(Korea International Printing Machinery & Equipment Show), MPS Systems Asia will introduce shrink sleeve and wrap around label printing on a flexo press to the Korean market, with its debut appearance of the MPS EF-530 (8 colour) flexo press on Sanki’s booth 0170.

Live: Wrap around labels on thin film
Show visitors will see the MPS EF-530 print wrap around labels with micro-text on a thin film, demonstrating the advantages of flexo printing for the ultimate in design possibilities, shelf appeal and printing productivity.

Endless possibilities – From simple to complicated multi-layer labels
Joining Sanki on stand 0170 at MPS’s debut appearance at KIPES will be Tim Klappe, Managing Director of MPS Systems Asia. He commented: “This multi-substrate press - containing 8 colours, a new LED UV system and a 530 mm (20 inch) web - can print both simple and complicated multi-layer labels on various packaging materials, and will demonstrate how pressure-sensitive adhesive labels can be produced up to five times faster on a high-speed and wider flexo press.”

Many advantages for the Asian market
Klappe is excited to show the benefits of the MPS EF-530 and flexo printing to the Korean market, currently with a large number of letterpress printers. “Korean printers can experience first-hand that high-quality, vibrant print jobs are easily achievable with flexo printing, which offers many advantages in label and film printing applications such as wrap around and shrink sleeves, and even flexible packaging,” said Klappe.

“Compared to gravure printing, it’s a less expensive solution, especially for smaller and medium print runs with its capability of faster job changes.”

Increased local service
Another key message MPS will deliver at KIPES is its increased level of local presence, support and service in Korea and throughout Asia. In addition to Sanki Machine representing MPS locally in South Korea, MPS Systems Asia has increased its level of local engineer support with the appointment of Julius Urbano as Regional Service Engineer earlier this year, and Teh Chiau Khuang as Service Engineer announced this month.

The MPS Systems Asia headquarters based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was officially opened in January 2018.
