MPS Announces Partnership with Domino in New EF SYMJET Press Launched at Labelexpo Europe

Following an earlier announcement that MPS is presenting a new hybrid printing solution at Labelexpo Europe, the company today unveils to have partnered with Domino in the development of this new EF SYMJET press. Live demonstrations of the EF SYMJET that combines both Domino and MPS technologies can be seen during Labelexpo Europe in the MPS stand 11C20.

The EF SYMJET is a symbiotic combination of a flexo press with the standard MPS EF platform and an integrated Domino digital N610i inkjet printer. With the flexibility of both flexo and digital printing, the EF SYMJET gives converters a range of new print possibilities. The Domino digital unit uses Kyocera print heads to print a resolution of 600x600 dpi, with up to six colours and opaque white. With a 340mm web width on the Domino printer and wider web width of 430mm on the MPS press, this allows converters to run more labels across when running in pure flexo mode, and at a higher speed.

Bert van den Brink, MPS Technical Director commented: “By combining the stability of our existing flexo EF platform with Domino’s well-proven N600i ink jet engine, we have created a highly flexible machine that will allow converters to combine flexo and digital printing, or use separately inline, as well as converting in one-pass. This solution fills the gap between conventional flexo and digital printing machines.”

After Labelexpo Europe, the EF SYMJET will be available for demonstrations in the new technology and expertise center at MPS headquarters in Arnhem, The Netherlands.
