Mark Andy hails success of Digital One Workshops

Mark Andy’s toner-based entry level digital press, Digital One, is attracting interest from a wide variety of companies, from label converters to brand owners, and advertising agencies, all of which see the benefits of a system that offers high quality print and converting inline. To maximise on market awareness, the company is holding a series of Digital One Workshops at its showroom and demonstration facility in Warsaw.

Describing Digital One as a simple and compact solution that relieves the pressure of short runs on flexo presses, Mark Andy Sales Manager Lukasz Chruslinski said: “Digital One improves efficiency on short run work with its short make-ready time and variable information capability. It is designed for companies that do not have the need for an industrial solution in digital print, but who still demand high quality and a variety of added-value options.” Digital One has a 330mm web width, and in addition to its CMYK dry toner print engine, has a flexo unit for an additional colour, varnish, cold foil, or laminating, followed by a die cutting station and rewind.

Most recently, Mark Andy ran two Workshops, one for Polish visitors and another for those from the Czech Republic. More than 60 participants were instructed on the machine’s processes and capabilities, and then given a hands-on opportunity to produce samples of different types of labels that demonstrate the marketing opportunities available from this unique digital press. Jobs run included beer labels printed on different substrates, which are ideal for the fast growing micro-breweries, personalised wine labels for artisanal vineyards, and flower seed tags for local growers. In addition, photos taken of the participants at the event were also printed as souvenir labels. Each label used a variety of the inline finishing options.

Commenting on the success of the Workshops, Mark Andy’s Managing Director for Europe, Tom Cavalco, said: “Europe is a strategic growth area for our company with a thirst for knowledge and a hunger for new technology in flexo, digital, and hybrid formats. This was clearly demonstrated in 2017, which was our most successful ever in Europe, selling 80 presses overall, and 17 in Poland alone!”

As a leader in narrow web technology, Mark Andy is keen to meet the expectations of its customers in this market, and the Workshops, which are both educational and practical, provide an ideal opportunity to involve existing and potential customers around the region. Via its extensive network of distributors, Mark Andy is planning to hold similar Open House events over the coming months, including one in France and another in The Netherlands, and it envisages making them part of an ongoing calendar of educational demonstrations that brings new technology to the market.

Concluding, Cavalco added: “We have a commitment to meet and support existing and potential customers via trade shows such as the recent RemaDays Warsaw fair in Nadarzyn, and Packaging Innovations in the UK, with both events attracting keen interest from advertising agencies who see the new possibilities opened up by Digital One. There is no doubt that this machine has tapped into a wide seam of interest in the market, and from small, medium and large companies, which encourages us to continue with our programme of educational events.”
