IMPRONTA DIGITALE ACQUIRES WORLD’S THIRD SCREEN TRUEPRESS JET L350UV+ TO BOOST PRODUCTION CAPACITY

Just three months since Screen announced the launch of two new inkjet label presses for Labelexpo Europe, Impronta Digitale Srl has signed a contract for the third Screen Truepress Jet L350UV+ label press to be sold worldwide. Impronta Digitale selected the Screen Truepress Jet L350UV+ press for its productivity, which will allow the specialist digital label printer to increase production capacity, following the revamp of its print facility in Venice, Italy.

“The speed of the Screen Truepress Jet L350UV+ was what drew our interest,” comments Ludovico Picello, co-owner, Impronta Digitale, “The print speed of 60 meters per minute is remarkable, and when you factor in the reliability and operability of Screen presses, you’re looking at minimum downtime, stable healthy margins and satisfied customers.”

Founded in 2013 by 20-something siblings Linda and Ludovico Picello, Impronta Digitale prides itself on investing in cutting-edge technology that complements the needs of the business. Starting out as an all-digital company and later investing in flexo technology, the Screen Truepress Jet L350UV+ adds UV inkjet to Impronta Digitale’s stable of equipment for producing high performance beverage, pharmaceutical and logistics labels.

“With consumer products such as wines, it’s important for the products to jump off the shelf, and we also need to work with a range of substrates,” continues Picello. “On the chemical side of the business, particularly for pharmaceutical products, fine detail is crucial, especially for very small fonts which absolutely have to be legible. After reviewing the technology, we’re absolutely confident the Screen press can deliver the premium print quality our customers deserve.”

The Screen Truepress Jet L350UV+ delivers exceptional quality through a combination of factors. The new option to include a chill roller that means that the press can process thin substrates that are particularly susceptible to the heat generated by the UV lamp. A remarkably stable transport mechanism tightly controls paper feeding to prevent meandering and maintain optimal transfer conditions, even at a fast-moving 60 meters per minute.

The press was sold to Impronta Digitale by REM Srl, who became a Screen partner in May this year. “This is a significant sale as it demonstrates Screen’s position in the market, and the strengthening of its position in Italy,” comments Andrea Buttafava, Sales Manager, REM. “This is the second order for REM, and it’s a fairly safe prediction that the market for digital printing, particularly UV inkjet, will continue to grow. Screen’s inkjet solutions for the label market are some of the best available when you look at quality, productivity and innovation. The market is responding well to the Screen machines and we expect to get more orders very soon.”
