HERMA Self-adhesive Materials: Slow beer with labels that hold fast

HERMA introduces a short movie that traces the way of self-adhesive materials from the supplier to a label printer and to the end user – a leading Danish brewery manufacturing specialty beers.

This video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oMsKNwTkiw)  describes how the innovative Danish label printer Scanket used a high-quality material from the HERMAexquisite range to solve the problem of applying attractive labels to beer bottles. Svaneke Bryghus, one of the most successful and largest speciality breweries in Denmark, was faced with the challenge of creating a label with a look and feel that reflects their beer’s quality – already a commonplace strategy in the wine industry. These labels, however, must not only be applied to cold and moist bottles, but also hold absolutely fast. For that purpose, high initial tack is essential. And the label stock must be capable of withstanding a lot of moisture so as not to impair the label's appearance. Scanket based their solution on HERMA's multi-layer technology: this technique of applying two different layers of adhesive simultaneously gives the label stock outstanding adhesive properties without forcing label printers to accept any compromises during processing. The resulting labels succeed in delivering the brewer's unique message at the point of sale.
