HERMA self-adhesive materials / Sales team reinforced

In October Jonas Hock joined the national sales team in HERMA’s self-adhesive materials division, where he will look after customers in the west German sales area from Karlsruhe to Münster. The 23-year-old graduate in business administration studied at the Cooperative State University Stuttgart from 2013 to 2016 and completed his combined study programme with HERMA as his corporate training partner. During his studies he gained an intimate understanding of several HERMA departments and went on to write his bachelor’s thesis on process optimisation in the sales department. “That gave me very deep insights into the work of a Sales Area Manager,” says Hock, admitting that "this motivated me after graduation to stay on in this department where – as throughout HERMA – service quality and response times are a top priority.”

Ralf Drache, head of sales for HERMA self-adhesive materials, sees the new appointment as vindicating the current HERMA programme to nurture future talent. “We at present have no fewer than around 50 apprentices and students enrolled on a combined degree programme at our sites in Filderstadt and Deizisau, where they are receiving vocational training in 13 different recognised occupations. We focus strongly on our own needs, so that we are able to offer most of them a long-term future at HERMA once they have completed their course.” According to Hock, an analysis of a company’s sales activities can make an important contribution to its competitive edge, to customer acquisition and customer satisfaction. He described customer loyalty as the key to long-term success. “In Jonas Hock, we have now added someone to our sales team who will be a great asset to our distribution activities thanks to the practical emphasis of his education,” Drache commented.

HERMA’s self-adhesive materials division is growing apace, both nationally and internationally: with growth of 9.3 per cent in 2015, it clearly outstripped the market as a whole.
