HERMA's managing director Sven Schneller announces withdrawal for mid-2026

HERMA's long-standing managing director, Sven Schneller (58), has announced his withdrawal from the company in the middle of next year.

The supervisory board of the company, which specializes in packaging and product labelling technology, has agreed to relieve him of his duties from 1 July 2026. “I will then have worked for HERMA for a total of 40 years, 20 of which as managing director,” said Schneller. "I came to the decision some time ago that this is the right time to let go. I will always remain associated with HERMA, but my personal life plans then include a focus on my private life. I intend to use my remaining time as managing director to help shape and oversee the generational change in the company management." Fritz-Jürgen Heckmann, the Chairman of the HERMA supervisory board, expressed his deep regret on behalf of the shareholders and the other members of the supervisory board. "We would have liked to keep Sven Schneller in the company for longer, but we respect his personal life plans. It was also important to us that he has agreed to continue making his experience available to the company for some time after his departure. As managing director, Sven Schneller has made a decisive contribution to HERMA's successful development. The shareholders and supervisory board would like to take this opportunity to thank him sincerely."

CFO Oguzhan Celil appointed as managing director

With the aim of long-term continuity, the supervisory board has appointed HERMA's current CFO, Oguzhan Celil, as a managing director with effect from August 1, 2025, alongside the two existing managing directors Sven Schneller and Dr. Guido Spachtholz. “This successive transition follows best HERMA practice and forms an important basis for moving our company forward,” emphasised Fritz-Jürgen Heckmann, Chairman of the supervisory board. Oguzhan Celil has been a member of the HERMA executive committee since mid-2021. Martin Kühl, Head of the Labelling Machines division, has also been a member of the executive committee since 2013. “The company now has an experienced and prudent executive committee that has already worked together well in recent years and has jointly set an important course for HERMA.”

The new expanded distribution of responsibilities between the managing directors will come into effect on January 1, 2026. It has been decided that Dr. Guido Spachtholz will assume responsibility for the Labels division and Oguzhan Celil will take over responsibility for HR in addition to their existing duties.
