For the third time, Marzek Etiketten+Packaging organised a holiday camp in Hungary for 25 children of Ukrainian employees of the Marzek Group.
This summer, Marzek Etiketten+Packaging once again enabled 25 children of employees at its subsidiary Marzek-Dnipropack in Ukraine, accompanied by four adults, to enjoy a carefree and unforgettable holiday in Békéscsaba, Hungary. Following the great success of the holiday programme in the last two years, the team at Marzek Kner Packaging, the Hungarian subsidiary of Marzek Etiketten+Packaging, once again put together a varied and colourful programme that will be remembered for a long time to come.
Even in the fourth year of the war between Russia and Ukraine, Marzek-Dnipropack LLC, the Marzek Etiketten+Packaging plant in Ukraine, continues to reliably produce labels and packaging, especially for systemically important companies (drinking water, beverages and food), despite ongoing Russian attacks. Since the beginning of the war, the owner family of Marzek Etiketten+Packaging has been deeply committed to supporting the employees of Marzek-Dnipropack LLC, attempting to alleviate their suffering through targeted social benefits, special payments and other support measures. As children are particularly affected, Marzek Etiketten+Packaging once again organised a summer camp in Hungary for 25 children of Marzek-Dnipropack LLC employees this summer. As in previous years, István Kása, Managing Director of Marzek Kner Packaging, and his team put a lot of effort into putting together a varied holiday programme to show their solidarity with their colleagues in the neighbouring country and to support them in the best possible way. Excursions to castles and palaces, a visit to the zoo, canoe trips, all kinds of sporting activities and a visit to Budapest with a cruise on the Danube provided plenty of entertainment. The children were delighted with numerous gifts such as headphones, sunglasses, T-shirts and much more, which will remind them of their holiday in Hungary when they return home.
"It is a matter close to our hearts to give the children of our employees in Ukraine at least two weeks of carefree holidays so that they can forget the terrible war during this time," explains Dr Johannes Michael Wareka, CEO of Marzek Etiketten+Packaging and fourth generation of the founding family. He therefore took the opportunity to visit the holiday camp with his wife Rossana and his children Marie and Stefanie to see for himself that the young Ukrainians were able to enjoy their holidays to the fullest: "It was very touching to see the joy and enthusiasm with which the children participated in the activities. As in previous years, our Hungarian team did a great job and gave the children an unforgettable holiday experience. The lovely pictures and crafts the children made to thank us for inviting them to this holiday camp, their sparkling eyes and warm hugs touched us deeply," adds Dr Johannes Michael Wareka.
Official support
As in previous years, Marzek Etiketten+Packaging secured the support of the Hungarian and Ukrainian embassies to ensure the children's smooth transfer across national borders. The visit by HE Fedir Schandor, Ambassador of Ukraine to Hungary, was particularly welcome.
