ETPA Packaging, Greece – Gallus ECS 340 sold to Athens

The Greek label printer ETPA Packaging installed a Gallus ECS 340 at their production site in Komotini, North Eastern Greece.

The company, headquartered in Athens, was founded in 1983 and has set its focus on self-adhesive labels, shrink sleeves and flexible materials. In order to broaden their spectrum and offer their customers the best possibilities when selling labels, George Ekonomou, Sales Director at ETPA Packaging, decided to invest in a Gallus ECS 340. This machine consists of 9 flexo printing stations and 4 screen printing modules and is further equipped with a cold foil unit as well as the possibility of backside printing on glue, UV Lamination for monofoil material and PS Lamination.

Ekonomou is particularly convinced of the machine because it offers us incomparable flexibility, especially when printing silk screen jobs.
Being nearly twice as big as comparable companies, ETPA is now the most influential label converter in Greece. It is driving the label market and has a huge influence on the market when taking decisions. Furthermore, it is the only Greek company which is certified as worldwide supplier for well-known multinational companies. 120 qualified people are currently employed at ETPA and the number of new employments is constantly growing year by year. On top of that, the company is always investing in new technologies and new productive machines.

Since March 2017 – exactly a year has passed since the machine was installed – ETPA packaging is running jobs for labels, sleeves and sachets on the ECS 340. “This is the first Gallus we bought, but we are more than happy to have invested in a Swiss quality product. The machine’s versatility is astonishing and the labels, the most important factor, of course, are of impressive quality”, says Ekonomou.
Seeing this quality and versatility, it is no surprise that, since its launch in 2009, the Gallus ECS 340 has been the top-selling label printing machine with short web path. More than 450 machines have been sold worldwide and provide daily support to Gallus customers in the label printing sector. The outstanding web feed and the extremely short web path are decisive in delivering the excellent register performance of the Gallus ECS 340. This press produces complex die-cuts at maximum speed and is able to print on almost any kind of substrate: paper, PE, PP and even tube laminate. Additionally, the machine system Gallus ECS 340 convinces with a new UV flexographic printing unit with even better performance.
