EDALE APPOINTS MATIK AS NORTH AMERICAN DISTRIBUTOR FOR ITS RANGE OF FLEXOGRAPHIC PRESSES

Matik appointment is latest step in Edale’s strategy to grow its international presence by partnering with market experts

Edale, a leading supplier of high-technology, narrow-to-mid web flexographic (flexo) presses for label, flexible packaging and carton printing, is very pleased to announce that it has appointed Matik, Inc. as its exclusive distributor in North America.

Edale manufactures the highly versatile FL range of modular flexo presses, from 13 to 30 inches (330 to 762 mm), which are capable of handling substrates from 12-micron film to 600-micron board for producing a variety of value-added applications from labels and tags to single-pass cartons and scratch cards. The sophisticated presses have a global reputation for delivering high levels of accuracy and productivity, and are highly customisable to allow companies to specify a press configuration and ink type to suit their budget and precise production needs.

Matik, based in Connecticut with several regional offices, is the exclusive distributor in North America for many other leading brands, including Codimag, Gietz and MELZER, and provides full sales and technical service support to its nationwide customer base. The Edale flexo presses complement Matik’s portfolio of advanced converting, printing, slitting and packaging equipment perfectly, and enable the company to offer its customers a broad choice of technologies.

“Edale’s web flexo presses are among many advanced technologies invented in the UK,” says Steve Leibin, executive vice president of business development at Matik, Inc. “In addition to initiating the Industrial Revolution with labour-saving machines in the 18th century, the UK was the origin for many technology-based inventions, such as the portable digital music players, radar, TV and the first computers. Edale’s flexo presses have many unique features that offer North American customers a competitive advantage — delivering high-performance and efficiency — in an operator-friendly platform that is modular and cost competitive.”

“We are very pleased to appoint Matik,” says James Boughton, Edale managing director. “It has built a first-rate reputation in the industry, and its extensive experience along with the ability to provide installation, training and service, and support make it an ideal partner for us in North America.”

Matik and Edale are exhibiting jointly for the first time at Lablelexpo Americas (September 13 – 15 in booth 1340) where visitors can meet Edale and Matik flexo specialists and discuss the company’s range of modular presses.
