Apex Latin America Ships 500th Ink Metering Roll
Operating at full production capacity near Curitiba, Brazil since opening in September 2011, Apex Latin America delivered its 500th ink metering roll to the Latin American market on December 29. “South and Central American flexography is at the cutting edge of printing technology, and their immediate embrace of Apex GTT and UltraCell anilox rolls is proof,” observes Managing Director Valcinei Bisineli of Apex Latin America. “Apex’s brand new, fully-automated 2,000 square-meter plant serves all of Latin America flexo – from Argentina to Guatemala,” notes Apex Latin America Director of Sales Dercilio Oliveira. “With 21 highly-skilled employees and state-of-the-art lasers, we meet international customer demand with technical innovation, professional attention and prompt delivery from our central industrial location,” states Oliveira.
Situated on the grounds of a former indoor soccer arena in the Curitba suburb of Campo Magro, Apex’s new manufacturing complex boasts 1,500 square meters of gleaming machinery, clean-room-grade environmental standards, and the highestquality lasers and plasma booths. Multiple fully-automated bridge cranes enable precision hands-off roll-handling capability to meet strict Apex safety and efficiency guidelines. Another 500 square meters is devoted to first-class administrative and sales facilities. Acquired in Spring of 2011, the buildings and grounds were transformed on-schedule, allowing production of their first GTT and UltraCell anilox rolls on September 1, 2011. To meet customer demand, current precision laserengraving production capacity of 150 square meters per month is expected to increase in 2012 with the installation of more lasers.
