UPM Raflatac is pleased to announce it is the first label material producer to bring a new wood-based polypropylene film material into the market. The UPM Raflatac Forest Film™ label material has been developed in collaboration with UPM Biofuels using UPM BioVerno naphtha, a 100 percent wood-based solution originating from sustainably managed forests.
UPM Raflatac will be showcasing its sustainable labeling solutions at Labelexpo Europe 2019 in Brussels from September 24-27. UPM Raflatac’s innovative solutions can help printers and brand owners reach beyond their sustainability goals by offering solutions to reduce, recycle and renew.
UPM Raflatac and Orthex have joined forces to offer household products and their labeling made of recycled plastic saved from ending up as marine litter. The products include buckets, wash bowls and water scoops. To achieve this, both companies are part of value chains that collect the plastic waste and transform it back into raw materials.
UPM Raflatac’s OptiCut™ Direct Thermal (DT) Linerless product line is now qualified on the Epson® TM-L90II liner-free compatible thermal label printer. This will enable the global supplier of innovative and sustainable labelling materials to offer improved linerless label performance for quick service restaurants, fast casual establishments, and other brands in the hospitality segment.
