FINAT workshop for the PCF Tool
The Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) describes the amount of greenhouse gas emissions caused by a product in its different life cycle phases. FINAT members are experiencing challenges to calculate their environmental impact as well as obtaining harmonized calculations across the supply chain. Against this background, a collaborative approach on the calculation of PCF is becoming increasingly important in our industry.
FINAT is working with, a recognized integrated sustainability company, Sphera to build an online PCF tool that will calculate the impact of a label across the supply chain. The tool will consist in two modules (laminate and printing process) that connect each other. The aim is to meet future legal requirements and the demands from the supply chain. The first steps for building the tool will consist of an online workshop and a series of three in-person workshops.
- Workshop 1 Online - Introduction to main concepts and definitions
- Workshop 2 – Goal & Scope definition
- Workshop 3* – Laminate process
- Workshop 4* – Printing process
*Workshops 3 and 4 are combined on 2 consecutive days.
This is a call to participate in Workshop 1. Below is the relevant information.

The three face-to-face workshops, in The Hague, will deal with the specific implementation according to Finat’s needs. Participation in the workshops will be fine-tuned to ensure a balanced representation of the supply chain and to participants who already have some prior knowledge of the topics to be covered.
