UPM Raflatac to showcase new labeling solutions for increased patient safety at CPhl Innopack

UPM Raflatac will present its comprehensive range of safe and reliable pharmaceutical and healthcare labeling solutions at the CPhl Innopack exhibition on 9-11 October 2018 in Madrid, Spain. Among the solutions on show will be UPM Raflatac's latest innovations for increasing patient safety and ensuring compliance with the EU Falsified Medicines Directive (2011/62/EU), which comes into force in February 2019 in the majority of EU member states.

The Falsified Medicines Directive aims to increase the safety of packaging for prescription drugs and high-risk, over-the-counter medicines, with an estimated 30 billion packs a year affected in the EU. The UPM Raflatac pharmaceutical labeling range includes four different tamper-evident solutions that make it immediately clear if packaging has been tampered with before it reaches the patient. These solutions are designed to blend seamlessly with existing packaging designs.

UPM Raflatac is now also offering two innovative new missing label detection products that, in combination with a camera sensor, make it easier to ensure that labels are present and correctly adhered. Both products appear clear under normal lighting conditions, but make it easier to detect if the label is present when exposed to UV light.

The UPM Raflatac range of proven pharmaceutical and health care labeling solutions also includes among others migration safe label materials, labeling solutions for small-diameter containers, and compliant materials for blood bag and IV labeling.

Visitors will have the opportunity to discuss the latest market developments and these innovative solutions with UPM Raflatac's pharmaceutical labeling experts in Hall 2, Stand D42.
