MPS reveals 4 new innovations at the Labelexpo America's show
MPS is responsible for a large number of revolutionary innovations, amongst others the introduction of Press automation into the narrow web industry. Also this show MPS will unveil 4 brand new innovations:

1. Die-cutting automation
MPS fundamentally believes that today’s market place has an intrinsic need to automate press settings in order to drive down the cost price per 1,000 labels, especially for short runs. MPS has therefore introduced Automated Print Control (APC). APC stands for an automated servo control of all relevant press settings. Thanks to APC, also the die-cutting pressure is set automatically, is extremely easy to operate and replicated through job memory, resulting in virtually no set up waste, including die-cuttings!
2. iStrip
iStrip is the name of a new and tension controlled stripping system offered by MPS today. The iStrip technology allows the press to die-cut and strip matrix at very high press speeds. Also when the label shape and/or material are very difficult to strip. Speeds have been reported up to 600 ft/min!
3. EF 3rd generation
The EF-press (3rd generation) on show will present to the audience what true press automation is about. The MPS APC technology allows operators to change in between jobs totally automatically without set up wastes. At the show the audience will be invited to choose different jobs including different substrates. With the use of an iPad the press presenter will set up the entire print and converting system, automatically with virtually zero waste!
The latest M2M automatic length and cross register camera system will be demonstrated, guaranteeing minimal set up waste (including short web technology).
The EF-presses come in 13-16 and 20 inches print width and have many converting systems available which all are integrated into the unique press controls with the user friendly operator interface: iControl!
NEW converting options available on rail (flexible positioning); Cold & hot foil both not engaging print units, dual web handling, in-register lamination, cross over units, automatic tension control lamination.
4. New print sleeve; E-sleeve
In our industry print sleeves are more and more used on a daily bases. Print sleeves are light, cheap and easy to handle. Negatives on “conventional sleeves” are; wear, damage and special tools are required to cut the mounting tape.
Typical example of MPS design philosophy: E-sleeve. A patented sleeve concept; a sleeve which consists of a metal tube material, without a compressible inner diameter. So no wear, less sensitive to damage and normal and known cutting techniques for cutting mounting tape on sleeve.

Further more on show; EXL-packaging
One of the examples of the impressive flexibility of MPS presses is the EXL-packaging, which is up to 26” wide and is engineered for a speed of 1,000 feet per minute. The EXL-packaging’s flexibility is enormous; it is suitable for printing with UV, water based and solvent based inks. The EXL-packaging is basically a flexo press, but different printing and converting units can be integrated also. Examples are: screen, gravure, laminating, hot foil and cold foil units.
Variable sleeve offset: EXL-offset
At the show visitors are invited to discuss also the offset machine launched at Labelexpo 2011 in Brussels. The machine uses sleeve technology for repeat changes. But above all an extended APC press automation that allows the operator to recall all relevant press and print technology settings out of job memory. Resulting in a web offset press printing high quality labels and packaging jobs very effectively, also small job sizes!
