Three MPS Customers Win FlexoTech Awards

At the recent 2016 FlexoTech Awards ceremony, held on October 13 in London, UK, three MPS customers were rewarded for submitted labels printed on MPS presses. Interket was winner of the prestigious Supreme Award and the Labels Process category, AJS Labels topped Combination Printing and Labels Line and Tone, and Reflex Group was the selected winner of UV Flexo, Paper and Board.

The double award-winning label 'L'Oréal Magic Retouch Beige' submitted by AJS Labels was printed on an MPS EC 330 flexo press using 12 colours and hot foil application. Impressing the judges was the ability to combine fine type on a solid background and printing on the reverse, while keeping very tight register. Also standing out with the exacting register of the label's gold foil to the printed illustration.

Interket's winning label 'Little Garden Of Eden 1 Litre Semi-Skimmed Milk' was printed on an MPS EF 520 flexo press with Pulse PureTone inks on 60 microns COPP substrate. The UK printer, formerly known as Stampiton and now part of the international Interket Group also won the prestigious Supreme Award. Criteria of the winning label was the ability to print a complex design out of a four colour set with extremely good registration, and the use of sophisticated screen technology that enabled the reversed out areas to appear very sharp.

Third winning customer was Reflex Group with their 'Henriettes Lam Ytrefilet' label printed on an MPS EF 510 multi-substrate press using Apex anilox and Pulse UV inks on 170 gsm Antalis Finesse board. The sharp contrast between the dense black and the product illustration impressed the judges, and the printing also showed good trapping and very fine printing of the highlight areas.
