MPS Set to Unveil its new EF Flexo Press line at Labelexpo Europe

In hall 11 stand Q40, MPS will also present its new EB cost-effective press, the EXL-Offset press and two new innovative technologies. Furthermore MPS will present together with Kodak and Reproflex 3 Next Generation Flexo Printing.

MPS today announced it will unveil its new EF Flexo press line now available in three versions ranging from cost-efficient, to advanced, fully-automated machinery at Labelexpo Europe, held 24–27 September at Brussels Expo. Also presented for the first time will be the EB cost-effective press along with the EXL-Packaging line and demonstrations of the revolutionary EXL-Offset press. Additionally, MPS will introduce Led UV dryer technology and a Track-and-Trace functionality which is connected and integrated into machine job memory. On September 25th, MPS will team up with Kodak and Reproflex 3 for an exclusive day at the MPS stand with live presentations to show Labelexpo visitors how to ‘Do More With Less’.

The broadened EF Flexo press line
To be debuted at Labelexpo Europe is the broadened EF multi-substrate press line offering printers a choice of three versions:
• EF
• EF-APC
• EF-APC Advanced

The standard EF offers an automation package including Job Memory, iControl, Gearless Tooling and more. From this standard configuration, two additional automation packages for the ultimate in print setting control can be configured to further increase the productivity of the EF press.

The EF-APC version is enhanced with automation on the print sleeve settings and with slide-out ink drawers. Offered with the EF-APC Advanced version (APC Package is included) is automation on the print gap (substrate related) to store and recall material calibration and positional print settings for the sleeve and anilox. Live demonstrations of the APC-Advanced version will be presented during the show.

New EB cost effective press
With a practical and ergonomic design, the new EB press is built with several unique features while providing a lower-cost investment. Available with a print width of 370mm (14” inches), it is designed for conventional label printing and offers high-quality print and reliability expected from a MPS press.

EXL-Offset demonstrations
Press demonstrations of the EXL-Offset will feature offset sleeve combination printing, which offers variable sleeves for different repeat lengths for both plates and blankets and is suitable for both short and long-run printing and converting jobs. All inking and press settings are effectively automated with the innovative APC (Automated Print Technology) from MPS, together with job and material memory. The EXL-Offset can be equipped with various flexo, gravure and screen units in addition to flexo units on rail.

Introduction of a LED UV Dryer
Responding to the advantages of LED curing that include a longer life-cycle and the use of significantly less energy, MPS will present a new LED UV Dryer at Labelexpo Europe. The use of a LED UV dryer within printing presses helps to reduce heat generation. Furthermore, with the use of an LED UV Dryer, the required built space is reduced which allows additional converting or finishing processes to be completed even within shorter web paths.

Track-and-Trace functionality
MPS will also introduce a data control system for Track-and-Trace functionality. This new system expands workflow capability to a new level by recording actual data from each run, including inks used, substrates selected and other critical parameters. When combined with the machine set-up Job Save/Memory Recall functions and barcode interface (powerful tools already available), management now has access to data on how the press and process actually run, taking a major leap in the continuous improvement process.

Next Generation Flexo Printing
The next generation of flexo printing capabilities will be presented by Kodak, MPS and Reproflex 3 on the 25th of September at the MPS stand hall 11 stand Q40. Continuous demonstrations will highlight how leading prepress and press technologies come together to deliver outstanding, consistent quality at the lowest delivered cost. It will dynamically present how impactful offset-like quality can cost-effectively and efficiently be achieved with narrow web UV flexo – with no compromises and without the use of spot colour inks.

The Choice is Yours
The theme in the MPS stand at Labelexpo Europe will be “The Choice is Yours” to illustrate the wide range of press solutions now offered by MPS in response to market demand. From efficient, cost-effective solutions to high-end, fully-equipped advanced machines, MPS can accommodate a printer’s price range and level of automation requirements in a printing press.

In hall 11, Stand Q40, the entire range of EB, EF and EXL press lines will be presented. The EF APC-Advanced Press and the EXL-Offset press will show daily live demonstrations.

Eric Hoendervangers, MPS Commercial Director commented: “We are pleased to present the broadened EF flexo and the new cost effective EB press lines at Labelexpo Europe, to maximise the world's largest event for the label and package printing industry. We recognize that printers have different requirements when it comes to press technology. Our range of press solutions and level of automation give printers a choice. All MPS presses are engineered and manufactured at the MPS factory in the Netherlands. Customers can count on MPS to deliver high-quality and the latest in innovative technology.”
