MPS customers make bold presence as finalists in the FlexoTech Awards 2017

MPS customers bring a strong representation to the upcoming 2017 FlexoTech International Print & Innovations Awards with an impressive nine nominations for flexo prints submitted by The Label Makers, Uniflex, Coveris and Reflex. Half of the nominations in the Labels (process) and Labels (line and tone) categories, three of four nominations in the UV Flexo, Paper and Board category, and a ninth nomination categorized under Combination Printing were all printed on MPS presses.

“MPS is proud to be represented as the printed press in nine nomination finalists from four of our UK customers in the 2017 FlexoTech Awards, a prestigious international event,” said MPS UK Director Nick Tyrer. “We congratulate The Label Makers, Uniflex, Coveris and Reflex for standing out with their innovative labels, and hope that many awards will be won by these great printers.”

The Label Makers were nominated for their ‘Kakapo New Zealand White Wine’ label printed with Sun Chemical inks on Raflatac Pure Cotton 100g substrate and decorated with Tactile screen. Uniflex entered their ‘Beauty Smoothie – frozen berries’ label printed with Flint inks on Fasson PP substrate, decorated with Kurz foil and Frimpeks varnish. Coveris was nominated for their ‘Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference orange juice’ label printed with INX International inks on WPP substrate, with a second nomination for their ‘Nature’s Glen Moroccan style lamb kebabs’ label printed on Nova Tec 200 substrate with INX International inks.

Reflex was nominated an impressive five times for ‘The Bolney Estate Sandstone collection’ wine label decorated with embossing and hot foil with Kodak Flexcel NX and Vianord platemaking; their ‘ASDA breaded chicken fillets’ label printed on Antalis Finesse substrate with Pulse inks; their ‘Jawbox Classic Dry Gin’ label, printed with Sun Chemical inks on Avery Dennison clear PP material and richly decorated with Kurz hot foil, Spilker hot die, Falcontec embossing and Rotomesh screen; and the ‘Ashfield Farm Pork crackling sheets’ label, nominated in two categories, printed with Pulse inks on Antalis Finesse substrate.

Winners will be announced during the FlexoTech Awards 2017 held 23 November at The Hilton London and presented by former England, Liverpool and Watford footballer, John Barnes MBE.
