Barthel Gruppe signs for another MPS EF 430 flexo press

German label printing specialist Barthel Gruppe signed for their 24st MPS investment: a six-colour, fully-automated EF 430 flexo printing press. This advanced machine will replace an older flexo press to produce labels for the food industry.

Barthel Gruppe is a group of six label printing companies with manufacturing plants in Germany and the Netherlands. The company employs over 300 people and has a yearly revenue of circa 70 million euros. Headquartered in Essen (Germany), Barthel is a fixture in the European label market producing approximately 270,000 square meters of labels daily at four locations, while enjoying steady growth.

MPS and Barthel have maintained a long-standing partnership, with this EF 430 flexo press marking Barthel’s 24th MPS press. Frank Kuntke, Sales Manager of MPS Systems GmbH (Germany) said: “After 18 years, Barthel remains a loyal MPS customer. It’s truly an honour receiving this additional sale for our EF multi-substrate flexo press, as a testament of the value MPS provides in label printing, innovation and service.”

Barthel began as a label producer for fresh produce and is today a specialist in printing self-adhesive labels for many markets including food, wine & spirits, home care, cosmetics, pharma, chemistry & automotive —ranging from simple to highly sophisticated decorative labels.

Mischa Barthel, managing director of Barthel Gruppe added: “From years of partnering with MPS, we can confidently rely on MPS’ press technology, robustness, and service when we need it. Our MPS presses consistently deliver the same stable results — regardless of the operator that runs them. That is why we put our trust in MPS again, and look forward to enhancing label production with our new EF 430 press.”
