Avery Dennison outperforms competition in vehicle wrap benchmark study

Avery Dennison released a benchmark video and study demonstrating that Avery Dennison® Supreme Wrapping Film outperforms competitive wrapping films currently on the market. Independent applicators completed benchmark tests on perception of product and application performance comparing seven vehicle wrapping films from major manufacturers worldwide.

“Avery Dennison customers around the world have told us that Supreme Wrapping Films are the best available,” said Jon Maley, global vice president for marketing, Avery Dennison Materials Group. “This was affirmed by independent installers testing seven films on a variety of surfaces. The overall performance of Avery Dennison® Supreme Wrapping Film was superior to our competitors’ products.”

The benchmark tests were conducted by three independent applicators at three different skill levels with the support of an independent wrap shop. Slideability, repositionability, air egress, conformability, application speed, removal speed and finish quality were evaluated.

Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping Film ranked highest for slideability and conformability, and achieved the highest score for overall performance. Application times were also measured and Supreme Wrapping Film was rated the fastest to apply – almost 20 percent faster than other products.
“Time saving, easy-to-apply, superior performance and long-term removability are the characteristics that vehicle wrap applicators and installers are looking for,” added Maley. “Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping Film provides all of these benefits and is available in a wide variety of colors and finishes.”

Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping Films are dual-layer films that combine color, texture and clear protective layers, providing a smooth, paint-like finish that is both durable and dazzling. The films also feature patented Avery Dennison Easy Apply™ RS Technology, allowing the film to slide over the surface of the vehicle so it can be positioned correctly and quickly. Slideability is not a feature of standard vehicle wrapping films.

The benchmark video made its debut in the Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions stand at FESPA 2013, June 25 – 29, in London and is now featured on the Avery Dennison YouTube channel.

Vinyl wraps and graphics can be installed on most vehicles and boats, ATVs, motorcycles and RVs. Wraps easily change the look of a vehicle, can be installed quicker than a custom paint job and are often more affordable than paint.
