If the events in 2008 have proven anything, then it is that past achievements do not guarantee future success. Celebrating our legacy inevitably brings about the question concerning the future. Taking advantage of the combined Board, Marketing and Technical Committee meetings in London October 2008, FINAT invited 20 key insiders of the industry to give their personal views and opinions on the future of the self adhesive label industry. In a hotel facing Hyde Park, FINAT set up its own ‘Speakers Corner’.
In a series of five panel and one personal interviews under the professional guidance of strategist Paul de Ruijter (NL), future market opportunities, the changing industry structure and new technologies were discussed. Not surprisingly, the 3 panel interviews on the first day covered market and marketing aspects as well as management challenges. The two remaining panels on the second day focused on technological and materials innovations and standards as well as issues related to our industry’s corporate social responsibility. The interviews were recorded on video. You can access the extensive summaries as well as extracts of the video recordings by clicking on the relevant panels.
